Whenever I finish a book, which is usually somewhere
in the neighborhood of 350 pages and several months, I take a few week
break and write short stories. They're a relaxing change of pace with an
ending that's mere days or weeks away. Sam & Jack is a contemporary
romance with a 'feel good' ending, while The Death of Mary Alice Olivetti
is a fiction piece with a hard edge. Writing in different genres
helps me stretch as a writer. I hope you'll check these out!
