A Family Affair

The Inside Story

ISBN 193372552-4

This moving tale will have reader’s asking themselves, "Which is the real family?"

Several years ago, I read an article about a man who’d kept a secret family for years without anyone’s knowledge. I was fascinated that someone could and would actually do this. That one small article lived in my subconscious for years, emerging occasionally as I considered how a person might achieve this, the effects on the primary family as well as the other family, the pain, the grief, the anger, the emotional, financial and psychological entanglements between the two, and the ultimate question; which was the real family? I became so engrossed with the emotion of the situation that I knew I had to create my own characters and my own story and so emerged, A Family Affair. I have loved this story from the first page, to the final edit. I think you will love it, too.

Christine Blacksworth is every man's dream: sexy, well-to-do, and tucked neatly in to daddy's company pocket. But when her father's sudden death reveals that his weekend getaways were spent with a passionate mistress and a second family, Christine is devastated. The secrets are just starting to surface as Christine shies away from her lavish life and gorgeous but business-first boyfriend, to return to her newfound family, which includes the mouthwatering Nate. Christine finds herself following in her father's footsteps, in a battle between two families and on a quest to find happiness and quench her desires.

Reviews:

In A Family Affair, we watch Christine, a successful lawyer who feels compelled to confront her late father’s mistress, a woman she is prepared to loathe. Instead, what she finds in Magdalena turns her well-ordered life upside down. Campisi’s use of contrast in both characterization and plot creates a wonderful tension that is nothing short of masterful. Note to the author: I’ll be disappointed if I don’t hear more about the warm and wonderful folks in Magdalena, especially Miriam, my favorite.
